How can I get involved?
Butterfield Canyon has a strong PTA program whose purpose is to provide our students with opportunities and experiences that wouldn't be available without kind and capable volunteer efforts. If you would like to get involved, please email pta.bce@gmail.com.
PTA Programs:
Volunteers - We love to have volunteers at our school. All volunteers are scheduled through our classroom Learning Links program. Please read through this form for detailed information about how to be a "Certified Volunteer" to help in your child's class: Certified Volunteer Process.
Staff Appreciation – Since 1984, National PTA has designated the first week in May as a time for communities nationwide to honor teachers for being a guiding force in helping children develop into healthy, happy and successful adults. We love participating in this week to show our teachers and staff how much we appreciate everything they do for our students.
Spirit Week - The PTA sponsors a Spirit Week every fall and spring to promote school spirit. There are fun dress up days, like crazy hair day and hat day, and we will cap off the week with a school spirit day at Fizz.
Book Fairs – At every SEP conference there is a Book Fair hosted in the library. This is coordinated by a member of the PTA board and staffed by volunteers from the school. At BCE we are happy to work with Scholastic Books.
Learning Links –The classroom volunteer program our school uses is called Learning Links. Each classroom has a Learning Links Representative who works one- on- one with the teacher to help accommodate the classroom needs. The classroom representative helps coordinate classroom needs such as, parent volunteers, classroom celebrations, and is a vital part of parent/teacher communication.
Birthday Celebrations - The PTA at BCE gives a gift to each student during their birthday month.
Field Day - PTA plans Field Day during the last week of the school year. The students look forward to this every year when they get to go out on the field with their class and participate in lots of different activities.
